I think alot of people waste money on "trendy" stuff like coffee at Starbucks (way to expensive). If you stay away from top-name brands alone, you can save incredible amounts of money..and save $150 a month easily.

We bought a Brita water filter pitcher, holds about 18 glasses of water, for about $15 on sale at Target. We estimate that we have saved something like $20 a month just by not buying two cases of bottled water and bottled tea. Plus, we have reduced the amount of bottles that we used to have to remember to recycle, now we don't even purchase them! Oh, we also bought reusable plastic bottles to fill with water each day.

When I first started working I was drinking a lot of soft drinks, looking at my spending I realized just how much I was spending on them. Your point number 5 can save you a small fortune in money. This goes for any beverages you drink that cost money.
