Another idea is to paint your table some color that will go with your new sectional.

Sure it is, Tread. In fact our computer room is decked out in that theme right now, and probably will be for several more years.

It didn't even occur to me until recently (like yesterday) that furniture could match. Darling's job with the furniture outlet has brought this fact into my consciousness, and I'm not very happy with it... We've only bought two pieces of furniture: a bookcase given away a few months later, and a futon for our guest room. Eclecticism is a theme, right?

I know you don't have young kids like I do, but when our oldest started to crawl, the first thing we did was get rid of the coffee table. And you know what? We haven't missed it, and we've talked about never replacing it even when the kids are much older. So if it's bugging you, I think you should get rid of it and maybe you'll be satisfied :)

Uh oh :) I get that too. I remember when I had an apartment and I had to upgrade to get a new table or something, the chairs had to match, and then the rug looked weird.. by the time I was done, I spent a small fortune matching a $50 table
