A great first impression
After a series of emails with HSBC left me feeling frustrated (I’ll be closing that account), I went to bankrate.com to try to find an internet bank that would allow one of the following:
A) Accounts to be titled in the name of a living trust
B) Accounts to list a living trust as a beneficiary
So, I emailed the first bank listed on bankrate that had a nice interest rate (UFB Direct) and asked my questions. I very quickly received an email back asking me to call a specific number. When I called that number, the person who answered was super friendly and had actually just been talking about my email. She let me know that while she didn’t know the answer, she knew who did. She got me to the correct place immediately, and I received my answer.
Yes, they allow what I wanted, and it’s no problem. They also told me how to go about getting things set up. I’m still in the process of checking the bank out more, but so far they’ve made a great first impression.
There is a lot to be said for first impressions. If this weren’t true then no one would dress up for a job interview.
