And there’s a contract
My duplex has been up for sale for a little bit now, and now there’s a contract on it. (It’s actually the 2nd one, because the first deal fell through.) I’m optimistic about this deal, but there’s just one catch: one of my renters is not the most timely person in the world about returning phone calls.
The buyer wants to get the inspection scheduled ASAP — meaning within the next two days — but reaching the tenant is difficult. I’ve actually been thinking of leaving a message myself offering the tenant money for his time and inconvenience. It would certainly be worth it to me to get this deal moving. Maybe the carrot approach will work. Of course, if that works, I’ll probably give the same amount to the other tenant as well just because they ARE cooperative and responsive.
