Car registration for less than the price of a dinner out
I received my car registration info in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I saw the envelope and thought, “Ugh, how did I get confused about this? I thought these were due NEXT month, not this month.”
Since I often cut things pretty close in my bank account, I wasn’t thrilled about possibly having to transfer money out of savings, etc. But then I opened the envelope and saw that the cost for my license and registration was $32. Total. For the two-year option.
Yes, it costs less than $20 per year for my license and registration. I pay less for my car’s tags than other people pay to have the vanity plate option added. (Which is yet another reason why I’ll probably never get a vanity plate.)
This is what happens when you drive a reliable older car. Things just get less and less expensive, even when you add in the cost of maintenance and occasional repairs.
