April 2009 update
Well another month has flown by. Pretty soon it will be boiling hot out here, but with a lot of luck I’ll have AC in my car by then. We’ll see. I still need to get the quote from my mechanic.
Although I just realized that I only have about $60 in my checking account til next payday, so hm. I better get busy making a little more money. (Of course I have money in savings, but I don’t want to use that.)
Speaking of money, I was expecting my net worth update for April to be dismal due to what seemed like a huge tax bill that I paid, but it wasn’t.
It’s actually soooo much better than I’d expected (even though it is down a little) thanks to the stock market finally doing something positive. What a relief.
Here are the results:
Assets: Down $899.75
Liabilities: Down $456.45
Change in net worth over previous month: Down $443.30
Of course, spending was another matter entirely. (Thanks to the aforementioned tax bill.) I didn’t even want to look at those numbers, but it turned out the majority of my spending was pretty normal (in the $2k range for the month) with the exception of taxes.
So, oh well. I suppose every April will be like this. There are worse things!

I had a horrid tax bill for April but I was expecting it. Oh well.
Plus, I find it so hard curbing the going out and having drinks, especially since my favourite karaoke bar is down the street!
