As Aimee said, there's no reason why he couldn't have the RAZR on a pay as you go plan. He might need to save up for it, and/or buy a reconditioned phone. But if he really wants one, he'd be willing to do that, right?

We have the Razr, and we use a pay as you go plan with T-mobile. Just a thought. :) Not that you should give in though, but there is an option.

There's nothing wrong with being the mean mom - I remember as a kid getting fixated on things that i really didn't need (it was just cool).

Hi - we have Verizon and adding the kids line (since your hubby has it) is only $9.99 a month (plus taxes about $12). There is unlimited txt, nights and weekends and calling all verizon users. I believe it is called the friends and family program.

If he is willing to fork the difference over, maybe consider it.

My 10 year old is driving me crazy for a cel phone. She can't understand that the problem is the monthly bill & not the cost of the phone. $6 a month is a great deal even if it is mainly for text messages.

Show him how much the phone sells for, retail, and ask why they charge only a dollar! They *do* get their money back and then some! Like CFO says, above, $6/month is a pretty sweet deal.

I can tell you this about Verizon's contract plans - you'll never find one for $6 per month!
