Cell phone savings
If you have cell service through Verizon, Cingular or Sprint/Nextel, you may be eligible for an employer-based discount.
To check eligibility with Verizon Wireless, just go to their web site, click on the employee discounts link, and enter your work email address.
To see if you’re qualified for similar discounts from Cingular based on your work or school affiliation, enter your information on their discount page.
For Sprint/Nextel, you’ll need to give them a call to see if you qualify. Government employees can call 1-866-805-9889, and corporate employees can call 1-866-805-9890.
Finally, it may be worthwhile to call and ask if a better plan is available based on your normal usage. (No matter who your cell service is with.) Cell phone plans and rates change all the time, and they’ll generally be happy to check to see if you qualify for something that’s less expensive. Just tell them that your goal is to save money, and see what they can do for you. (You just need to be careful that making a change to your plan doesn’t lock you into a longer agreement, unless you’re ok with that.)

Mine offers discounts for Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint. As the previous poster mentioned, it makes a huge difference. The discount also applies to the phone and accessories.
