ChexSystems
Ever heard of ChexSystems? Chances are good that your bank has. ChexSystems is an organization that many banks check with and report to on how people handle their checking accounts. It’s classified as a “consumer reporting agency”. The information tracked includes NSF amounts, the number of checks you ordered and when, applications completed at financial institutions & more. Information reported to ChexSystems stays on your report for 5 years. Based on what I saw in a brief a web search, many people have had great difficulty in getting erroneous information removed. I just contacted them to get a copy of my report. Check out this article on the Bankrate.com site for more information.
