Duplex update
Things are still progressing with the duplex sale, and I’ll know more about how it is going next week. But, I’ve learned some lessons in the process of buying, owning, and selling it that I’m going to keep in mind for the future.
The biggest thing is that, once again, I’ve discovered that apparently I STILL do not pay enough attention to my money. More specifically, I don’t pay enough attention to the things I could do to increase my income/profits/cashflow, and I don’t pay enough attention to stopping the things that could be reducing those items. Guess we could call this my biggest money mistake times four.
For example, at least part of the duplex was in worse shape than I knew, which is not something you want when a building is on the market. And I’ve learned that I’m not cut out for relying on other people to keep me up-to-date, to fix things, and to do things the way I would do them. I’m too much of a hands-on person to be an absentee landlord, and it’s very frustrating to not be able to see what’s going on for myself.
