End of year statements
If you’re planning to deduct your medical expenses on your 2006 taxes (or even if you just want to have a record of them) your pharmacy likely offers an end-of-year statement. It will list the amount you’ve spent on prescription medication over the year from that pharmacy. This is useful because you’ll have all the information in one place (assuming you use one pharmacy) and you won’t have to worry about missing a prescription deduction. Just be sure to get your request in early, as pharmacies are likely bombarded with end-of-year requests this time of year.

I also request the same type of statement from our family doctor and dentist. It’s much easier than trying to keep track of receipts all year long.

I didn’t even know you could do that. I need to make a call or two then.
