Garden progress
I meant to update on our garden a week or two ago, but I suppose now will have to do. I’m very happy with the results this season, because our sweet corn crop was a success. We got more than 2 dozen ears from it, and they were delicious.

We did freeze some of it, but I was transported back to my childhood in the midwest because we basically had corn for supper for a couple of days. There’s nothing like going out to the backyard, picking your food, and eating it 15 minutes later. My son joked around, saying that the corn cost us $40 an ear. It actually did end up being pretty expensive if you break it down that way (although not nearly THAT much!) because of having to BUY soil for the garden & the cost of a drinking water safe hose. Oh well, those were one-time expenses. I still hope to get some carrots and snap peas, but we’ll see how that turns out. In February I’ll plant more corn, carrots, and some tomatoes.
Ok, that’s it for the gardening talk. Here are a few articles I enjoyed for some additional weekend reading:

Canadian Capitalist discusses a report on active vs. passive management.

I don’t think you can put a price on what you get from the garden. It’s pretty rewarding in its own right!
Thank you for the mention. I’m glad you liked the article!
