Getting deliveries without wasting gas

I do business with a company that sends all of its products via UPS. For some reason, it seems like UPS always comes by at about 10:30 in the morning to deliver the package, so I usually miss them. Since I have to sign for the package, I used to go by the UPS delivery center myself later in the day to pick it up, which cost me about a half hour of time, a half gallon of gas, and some irritation because the route’s been under construction for months.

Then I discovered that if you call the number on the notice they’ll leave you, you can choose to have the package delivered to a different address. It’s easy. Just call 1-800-833-9943, input your InfoNotice number, and say that their options are not ok with you. You’ll then be able to choose to have the package delivered to a different address — one that you or someone that can hold the package for you will actually be at during the scheduled delivery time.
