Happy about new windows

I bit the bullet last month and got two new windows (one on either side of our front door). I’m loving them. It’s been a very mild spring this year, which means that we got them installed before any major heat. (It probably won’t hit 100 til later this week, which is unusual). I’m anxious to compare this year’s May bill with last year’s to see if there are any savings in kilowatt hours. There probably will be, because our old windows were plastic. That’s right, plastic. (Similiar to the kind of plastic that covers those long buzzing fluorescent light fixtures.) There were two panes of plastic, but still. The new ones are much nicer: dual panes of rain-textured glass with low-e coating & Argon gas. So far they are staying the same temperature as the inside of our house instead of heating up to match the outside weather. We eventually plan to replace all of the windows, but thought we’d start with these two since they were the least efficient.
