ING referrals

If you’re interested in opening an online savings account with ING, and intend to put a minimum of $250 in, you can use a referral to get a $25 bonus. (I’ll get $10 as well.) The interest rate for ING as of 1/24/07 was 3.65%. Check their web site for the most current rate. ING does have a very easy-to-use interface and the set up process is quick. And it certainly pays more than most brick-and-mortar banks.

When you click on the referral link, you’ll be taken to a page that starts out, “Simple Steps to Orange Savings. Open and fund your Orange Savings account in less than 5 minutes!” .

Click on the Continue button and you should be taken to a page that says “Start savings with a great rate. To receive your $25 bonus, open and fund your Orange Savings Account with at least a $250 initial deposit.”

If you see “The link you’ve used to open a new Orange Savings Account is no longer valid - it has either expired or has already been used” or some other message instead, please email me at c o m m e n t s @ b l u n t m o n e y . c o m (without the spaces) and I will send you a referral directly (otherwise you won’t receive the $25 bonus.) This link can only be used by one person, so I will be updating it as necessary.

Here is the latest Orange Savings Account referral link:

ING savings referral one (updated May 13, 2008)

Note that if you use a referral, I will be able to see that someone has opened an account with a minimum of at least $250, but I won’t know who you are unless I’ve sent you the link directly & you’ve given me your name. If you don’t want to use a referral, you can go directly to the ING web site to open an account.

Note: ING is now offering referrals for their Electric Orange CHECKING accounts too, except that you must be a brand new ING customer to use the referral AND have the $250 minimum opening balance to get the bonus. If you’d like a referral for the checking account, and are not already an ING customer, please email me at c o m m e n t s @ b l u n t m o n e y . c o m (without the spaces). I took the link down for the checking referrals because people were using them without meeting the requirements, which doesn’t do anyone any good…
