I am 33 and I have accepted I will work until death. Why should I waste my time "saving" money so brokers in the stock market can make other people richer on my money. Forget that!

Good post, appreciate the encouragement on this front.

I also think it's depressing to plan to work to the grave. On the other hand, not working can also be depressing for people. Some people take to retirement, and others don't. It would definitely be good to be able to slow down, switch tracks, or try something new. It would be good to not have to worry about food, shelter, healthcare, and even having some luxuries and non-essentials. Most people prefer to stay engaged and as active as possible doing things they really love doing for all their lives.

Yeah, and I don't understand why anyone would want to be forced to work their entire lives. It's also unrealistic, because often people who want to work can't.

The "I'll work until I die" attitude is so prominent and depressing. I know people in their late twenties, early thirties who have already decided they'll never be able to retire.
