Link hopping: Mowercycle Edition
Haven’t heard of a mowercycle? Neither had I til I saw that photo on Boing Boing. It’s a cross between a bicycle and a push mower. There’s some debate as to whether it would actually work, but if you want to try building one for yourself there are directions here. At the very least you’d get some exercise trying to make it go. Exercise is something I’m aiming to do more of, but I spend more time reading instead. Here are a few articles I enjoyed this week:
Canadian Capitalist starts a series on finding a financial advisor. It’s tough to know the kinds of things to look for in an advisor, so this is good information.
MoneyNing reviews a series of personal finance apps for the iPhone. (I presume the apps would work on the Touch as well.) This review is very handy — I had no idea there were already so many personal finance related applications out for the iPhone.
Squawkfox gives us 50 GREAT reasons to use reusable shopping bags. I learned a lot from this post, and it was entertaining too. Reusable bags are great!
Quest for Four Pillars shares the secret to increasing the odds of getting anything you want. It works, too!
Budgeting Babe hosts this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance. I liked the Platinum Year’s point of view on “A Dollar is a Dollar: Except When it Isn’t”.
Clever Dude is forced to get better gas mileage. Maybe he should get one of those little gas mileage monitors for instant feedback, too.
I Will Teach You To Be Rich notes the parallels between how to plan for disasters and personal finance.

I’ve considered the mileage monitor, but those things are expensive! Maybe if I didn’t have a truck payment (i.e. sell the truck and use it for our little 4 cylinder pontiac that’s paid off). I was really tempted to take the truck to CarMax today, but I know I can get a better price selling privately. Ok, off topic. Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the mention! I had never heard of a mowercycle either.
