I was lucky enough win one of the NeatReceipts Scanalizers from the recent giveaway on All Financial Matters. I have to say that I love this thing! It’s very cool, and I’ve already entered all of last year’s tax-related receipts into it. It does a good job of reading even very faded receipts (and it’s amazing how quickly those thermal paper receipts fade). I no longer have to worry about the IRS asking me for a copy of a receipt, and having nothing but a blank receipt to show.

The scanner was also very easy to set up and use. They aren’t kidding about it taking less than 5 minutes to install. To give you some idea of how gadgets and I usually get along, I’m the person who stares blankly at the remote control until my husband or son grabs it from me and turns on the DVD player. On top of the easy installation, actually using the scanner is a breeze: I just stuck in the receipt & pushed a button. If you’d like a solution to piles of receipts that you need to save, this is the gadget for you.
