Nonsensical, but nice
I logged on to Google Finance at some point yesterday and saw this headline:
“Consumer confidence at all-time low”
Then I glanced to the right where it showed this:
Dow 8,751.70 +575.93 (7.04%)
Of course, the Dow later went up to 9,065.12 by the end of the day, for an increase of 10.88%.
I’m sure I’m not the only one pointing out that the stock market is making zero sense lately. In this case, the obvious disconnect just made me laugh.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a 7% to nearly 11% increase. Let’s hope it continues moving in a positive direction. My poor little 401(k) account would surely appreciate it.
But at this point I figure there’s no point in trying to make sense of the nonsensical. I may as well laugh instead.

A colleague today suggested to me that the market is manic-depressive and that Lithium may be in order…
Volatility is the name of the game these days. Sense and sensibility are, for now, being suspended until further notice.

Micah and I were discussing the ups and downs and we agreed that the market just makes no sense. He went further and said that investors are being crazy…which I suppose is where the market gets it.
@shadox, lol!
