One of those weeks

This has been kind of a wild week for me. On the plus side, I’ve gotten a LOT of things accomplished, and am on-track to make that a continuing trend. My main focus ought to be on the start-up my husband & I are working on, but somehow there are always 80 million other things to do too. I need to be careful not to over-commit, not to spend too much time doing relatively unimportant things like touching up paint, and to plan for relaxation. At this point my relaxation is mostly personal finance related (reading articles, and reading The Snowball) but I squeeze other things in too. Here are a few of the articles I found interesting this week:

Money and Values put together a list of December discounts on socially or eco-conscious gifts.

The Personal Financier asks, what should I do with my money?

MoneyNing suggests 32 sensible tips for the holiday shopping season. (Although I think most of them are sensible tips for any time.)

Four Pillars asks, is desperation required to be an employee? I think he’s on to something there.

SquawkFox offers instructions for 8 homemade gifts-in-a-jar (with free printable gift tags).

Candian Capitalist hosts a guest post from ABCs of Investing that explains investment time horizon.

Clever Dude reminds us to take a look at the big picture when it comes to net worth and our financial situation.
