Overheard at the mall

I went to the mall recently to look for a new belt. I found a reversible one that I liked in a department store, so got in line to pay for it. The only register that was open was at the Coach purse counter. There was a line, so I looked at some of the prices while I waited. They had little wallets for a hundred bucks. While I was digesting that, a lady that looked to be in her twenties walked by, sort of leaning down.

“Look honey,” she said, “there’s a Coach wallet like yours.”

She was talking to a little girl who was barely a toddler.

I think that this goes to show that we have a great deal of influence on our kids. By our words and (most importantly) actions, we show them what is important to us. And they do listen, sometimes more than we know.

That’s a good example. I actually bought my girlfriend a Coach purse for Christmas. (shh, don’t tell anyone!)

Holy … cow … that scares me just as much as a trio of blondes, ages 30ish, 9, and 7 walking around in full makeup and miniskirt gear.
