Just a comment about the "environmentally friendly" bit. Mopeds, scooters and full size bikes are fuel efficient (less CO2), but they burn a lot dirtier than automobiles (ie. more particulates). Apparently, over the last few decades when the government was demanding that automobiles meet stick standards, these types of vehicles have been excluded. Hopefully this will change quickly, because I'm sure the technology is readily available.

Not that I don't think people should ride bikes, I've been thinking about getting one myself. I was disappointed when I learned this.

Was this my daughter in the store? She is a proud moped owner - not quite a biker chick though.....She loves her economical means of transportation and that is one of the reasons I love her. She has a good head on her shoulders (and under a helmet when she rides her moped).
