Taxes taxes and more taxes
First: Yay! I can do my taxes!
Yes, I know that’s not the type of thing people typically get excited about, but you see, it’s only MARCH and I’m already able to do my taxes.
Normally I have to sweat it out until April 15th, wondering if I’ll get the last document in time (a K-1) or whether I’ll have to file an extension. And then I have to wonder whether there is an unexpected gain or loss from that form. But this year I got it early!
I probably won’t be nearly as excited about this once I see exactly how much I’ll have to pay, but at least it will be over with sooner than normal. And I can still wait until the last minute to actually file my return. (No point in doing it sooner since I will owe.)
Second: I need to start figuring out what I need to know about Canadian taxes. I hope to sell a product there in the near future, and man at first glance I just don’t know if I’m going about this right.
I’ve got to figure out whether I need to register for GST/HST purposes, since I’m located in the U.S. and my business is in the U.S. But I’ll hopefully be selling to Canadians, so…who knows. Doing some research is definitely on my list.
Maybe the all-knowing Google can help me out.

I’m proud! :) No- really, I am.
I’m terrible because I never get my taxes done on time! Shame on me. Thanks for the kick in the pants.

This has to be the first year I’ve actually completed them in February as planned. Even though I owed money, I was super excited to have it done. After all, the money still doesn’t come out ’til April. :)
