The joy of budgeting

Do the words “joy” and “budgeting” sound like two words that don’t belong in the same sentence? That’s probably because you’re used to thinking of budgeting as a bad word. Maybe the word “budget” conjures up visions of self-denial and restrictions. Maybe it reminds you of past failures. But I think that poor little word has gotten a bad rap. Sometimes the negative connotations associated with certain words cause us to put off or avoid doing things that will really make our life a lot easier and happier.

You see, budgeting = FREEDOM!

Doesn’t that sound a lot better? Plan out where your money goes, and you’ll find the freedom to choose what you buy. You’ll find the freedom to decide what’s important to you, and the ability to actually get those things.

Agreed… I think budgeting is probably the best part of personal finance :) I love playing with numbers in my Excel sheet and organizing my thoughts/goals…
