Most people are just so terrified of rejection that they'd rather daydream about flex time instead of asking for it. I put up a post about the proper way to ask your boss for a flex time arrangement (click on my name for the article). Basically, I covered the following: what options are out there, the advantages, disadvantages, where you can find it, and how to get it from your current boss. I think one of the reasons why most people don't ask is because they figure they have nothing valuable to offer to the person they're going to be asking from, and therefore they just stay put. No one got anywhere in life by wishing it away. Actually, not only do you have to ask, you also have to be persistent about it! This is so true!
